Travel

There will be signs and notices to help you, your family or friends find their way around campus on the day of your ceremony. De Montfort Hall is a short walk away from the main campus through Victoria Park. Please allow at least 10 minutes for this journey, as late arrivals will not be allowed into the Hall.

If you are travelling from overseas you are strongly advised to travel to Leicester the day before your ceremony. If you or your guests require a visa to travel to the UK please contact graduation@le.ac.uk and request a graduation invitation letter. You will need to provide the full names of all your guests, as it appears in their passport. Please note that by issuing this letter, the University does not guarantee all guests will receive a guest ticket for your ceremony.  We only guarantee two tickets per graduand.

If you or your guests are using this letter to help apply for a Visitor Visa, please find more information here: https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa

Information on Visa processing times can also be found here: https://www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times.

We advise that you and your guests carry the graduation invitation letter and any other supporting evidence in your hand luggage when travelling to the UK.
