Ghazwan Hasan

Ghazwan HasanI am Ghazwan Qasim Hasan from Mosul, Iraq; I am married and have four kids. I have completed my bachelor's in 2005 and master's degree in 2005 at the Department of Biology, University of Mosul. I am a sponsored PhD student by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Republic of Iraq), based at the Department of Genetics at the University of Leicester. I work on plant sexual reproduction in Arabidopsis thaliana as a model plant with a short cycle; and exactly in pollen development as a male part in flowering plants and how it is establish. I have used different florescent proteins allowing me to monitor the gene expression in key processes in living cells. My project may help to solve problems related to food security in some of our economically important crops such as wheat, rice and tomato.
