Rob graduated with a BSc in Biological Sciences (2002) and an MRes in Molecular and Cellular Biology (2003) from the University of Birmingham, before completing his PhD in Genetics at the University of Leicester (2007). In his write-up year Rob worked as a Medici Technology Transfer Fellow at the University of Leicester (2006-07) working on various research commercialisation projects, before returning to the lab as a Postdoctoral Researcher in cardiovascular genetics (2007-2009) and then the human genetics of susceptibility to infectious disease (2009-2011), all at the University of Leicester. Rob then went on to work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Sanger Institute, before joining BBSRC in their Innovation and Skills Group in August 2012. Rob currently manages BBSRC’s Doctoral Training Partnership programme and develops BBSRC’s policies to support postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers.
