About Moira CooperCooper M

The Advanced Structural Dynamics Evaluation Centre (ASDEC) is the UK’s first commercial 3D laser measurement and modal analysis centre. Reducing vibration is the aim of design engineers across multiple industries, a goal often obstructed by the difficulty of obtaining good measures of vibration as it happens. The newest and most effective way of measuring vibration is now Laser Doppler Vibrometry. This depends on very accurate measurement of the deflection of laser beams as they strike a vibrating object. The reflected laser reveals the deflection of the target.  ASDEC, part of the University of Leicester and located at the MIRA site near Nuneaton, provides testing, development and research services to companies in the automotive, aerospace and turbines sectors.
