About John FlynnJohn Flynn

John graduated from the University of Leicester in 1982 with a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics and later went on to complete an MSc in Astrophysics at Queen Mary College, University of London.  He worked as a design, integration and test engineer in the space industry, initially with companies like British Aerospace, and later as an independent engineering consultant, including a 5-year spell in the Ministry of Defence.  Over a 25-year career, he worked in various capacities on 14 different spacecraft, all of which were launched and operated successfully.  In 2008, while taking a sabbatical from spacecraft engineering, he was side-tracked back into academia, and has since been working as an academic assistant to disabled students reading Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge.
