Strategic Priorities

The following are key strategic priorities in the fulfilment of the University's Digital Strategy.

Digital Learning Environment

The Digital Learning Environment will be a key element of the digital campus which will support innovation in teaching, linking with online marking, student records and collaboration environments, allowing seamless transfer of information.

Digital Skills and Capabilities

We are working towards ensuring that staff and students are skilled and confident to make use of the digital enhancement offered now and in the future. This work involves a collaborative partnership approach across Leicester Learning Institue, IT Services, Career Development Service, HR Organisational Development, Doctoral College, Library and  external partners.

Student digital improvements

Our work on digital improvements for students has seen a number of projects over the past couple of years. From the MyUoL app through to a programme to bring the whole student experience online,

Digital Innovation Partnership

A Digital Strategy project led by Leicester Learning Institute, the Digital Innovation Partnership (DIP) is a new opportunity for staff and students to digitally enhance learning and teaching.

Digital Reading Room

Our Digital Reading Room is a revolutionary new learning space in the University library, where staff and students can create, discover, inform, engage and share with friends and colleagues.

Facilitating Communication and Collaboration

External Website

Our website is the first port of call for any potential student, visitor or investor and we need to ensure that it projects the image of a forward-thinking, innovative institution. We are moving all externally-facing content onto a new Sitecore platform which provides more flexibility in the way the website is designed and maintained along with an attractive and logical experience for visitors.

MyWorkspace for Staff - Our new workspace

Using tools that are part of Office 365, we are creating a new staff intranet. This is much more than a straight replacement. We are giving you a digital workspace which connects to many of the key tools you need to do your job and some that you didn't know you needed, but could transform the way you work.

Office 365

Office 365 offers a number of new collaborative tools which will be at the heart of the digital campus, allowing staff and students to work together, interact and access data and information no matter where they are.
