I am the Minister of St Stephen's United Reformed Church which is on the corner of De Montfort Street and New Walk.  The United Reformed Church is a Union, formed in 1972 by the Presbyterian Church in England and Congregational Churches, then joined by the Churches of Christ and the Scottish Congregational Church, (very old denominations with lots of history).  The URC is also a member of  the  World Communion of Reformed Churches  and I really enjoy the opportunity of meeting people, not only from across Britain, but from so many different countries and continents – whether they belong to a church or different faith tradition, or have never  been to church at all.

Before coming to Leicester I was Minister of churches in Central London and before that in Essex.   I studied applied theology  at Oxford then post-graduate at Cambridge but not until I had worked in different places: for national charities and organisations, running campaigns and events;  in commercial marketing, and part time in music and theatre – training  as a singer originally but really enjoying conducting choirs and directing musicals. I like variety and that includes worship and church life.

Hobbies tend be around home – baking and cooking, and sewing when I have the time.  I am married and we have two adult sons – one a professional musician and the other an Engineer.
