Birthday Parties

We can offer versions of our Bear Hunt and Woodland Activities education programmes as a two hour birthday party

  • A 1 hour 15 minutes activity (choice of two, see below) led by a member of the Botanic Garden teacher team.
  • Use of a room for a further 45 minutes for food and games provided by yourselves.
  • Price: £120:

Bear Hunt
Act out the story of the Bear Hunt around the site- go through the swishy-swashy grass, the stumble trip forest… and run from the ‘bear’. Do several art activities relating to the story- make a grass picture, mud print paw prints, bark rubbings and splash in the paddling pool.

Numbers: maximum of fifteen children, age 4-5
Location: Attenborough Arboretum, Carisbrooke Road, LE2 3PF

Woodland Activities
Choose one / two from a selection of activities. Mask making, pond dipping, natural sculptures, clay sculptures, making head bands using leaves, fairy doors, Alice in Wonderland , hunt for 'animals' in the rainforest, treasure hunt for ingredients to make a cake...

Numbers: maximum of 20 children, age 6-8.

Café in the Garden

Café in the Garden 2018

We regret that the University Catering Dept. will be not be providing a café in the Botanic Garden this summer.

However, we will be offering refreshments at some of our special events. For details see our events calendar on our website.

Sculpture exhibition

Please note that there will not be a University sculpture exhibition in the Botanic Garden in 2018.
