Plant Identification Skills

Pulsatilla montana

This part-time course is for everyone interested in developing or improving their plant identification skills in the company of friendly, like-minded people.

Our expert tutors and demonstrators will guide you through all the stages involved in identifying a plant.

Using a combination of lectures, laboratory classes and field excursions, we teach you how to identify British wild plants. Our stepped approach starts with the identification of plant families (module 1, October-November); building on this foundation, we then introduce you to the methods of species identification (module 2, February-June). Our aim is to increase your appreciation and understanding of the diversity of the British flora, and of the plants in your own garden.
