The Art of Visual Perception

The Art of Visual Perception

Wednesday 4 - Friday 27 January 2012

How do we see and perceive the external world? What processes in our brain make us enjoy a landscape or a piece of art in a museum?

The result of a collaboration between visual artist Mariano Molina and University of Leicester neuroscientist Rodrigo Quian Quiroga, this exhibition shows the principles of visual perception embedded into art creations.

The 10 canvasses in this exhibition are not only novel art pieces, but also explain in an engaging way such neuroscience principles as “How do we see?”.

Funded by the Arts & Humanities Research Council Beyond Text programme.

Free Preview party - all welcome, Thursday 12 January. With 'in conversation' with Rodrigo Quian Quiroga.
