Leicester Sociologist Edmund Chattoe-Brown has just published an article in Early Childhood Research Quarterly entitled “Censorship”, Early Childhood Research Quarterly and Qualitative Research: Not So Much Aced Out as an Own Goal? This article looks at the ramifications of peer review failure using a case study of an article which made completely unsupported claims and was nonetheless published. It considers the different kinds of harm done by such publications and what can be done to maintain peer review quality in the light of this case.
