Stephanie Morgan was educated at the University of Winchester with a degree of BA History, and an MSc in Policy and Professional Studies (Crime and Policing) from Portsmouth University. In 1983, she joined as the Hampshire Constabulary, and was promoted to Commander of Policing on the Isle of Wight in 2004, and to Chief Superintendent in April 2006. In November 2007, Stephanie took up a temporary position as Assistant Chief Constable, Territorial Operations, within the Hampshire Constabulary and on July 2010 she was appointed as Assistant Chief Constable of Leicestershire Constabulary. In July 2013 Stephanie took up a position as the Temporary Deputy Chief Constable with strategic responsibility for the change programme, performance, professional standards, corporate development, and corporate communications, Diversity and Health and Safety. Stephanie held the national policing lead for LBGT issues before she retired from policing in 2014. In 2015, she received the Queen’s Police Medal and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from De Montfort University. She also retired from her role as a Policy Advisor to Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner in December 2015. She is now a Trustee of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation and member of the Committee of Women in Philanthropy and is Patron of the Leicester LGBT Centre.
