To mark International Women’s Day on 8 March, Oxford University Press is releasing a virtual issue of Parliamentary Affairs, containing ten recently published or forthcoming articles dealing with women and politics.

An article by Dr. Meryl Kenny has been selected for inclusion in this Editors’ Choice Issue.

In the article, Dr. Kenny and Professor Fiona Mackay (Edinburgh University) analyse patterns of women’s political representation in Scotland from 1992-2011, and evaluate why gender quotas haven’t ‘caught on’ in Scottish politics.

This article, along with other pieces on women and politics, is available here and is free to download until the end of June 2014.
