Twelve members of staff have been nominated by students to receive the Student Unions Superstar Award for 2013.

The Superstar Award is run by the Student Union and gives current students the opportunity to nominate staff who they feel deserve recognition for going the extra mile to support students in their studies. This can be through academic, administration, technical or cleaning services.

Dr Philip Cook, Dr Oliver Daddow, Dr Andrew Futter, Dr Simona Guerra, Mr James Hamill, Dr Philip Lynch, Dr Jon Moran, and Dr Richard Whitaker were all nominated for going above and beyond to help support students in their studies. Mrs Rachel Tate who is an associate tutor for the Department, and Mr Peter Thomas who is a PhD Graduate Teaching Assistant, were also nominated for the award.

Mr Bruce Edhouse and Mrs Zoe Clapton were nominated for providing helpful and friendly administrative support within the Department.

The Department would like to express its congratulations to all our staff who were nominated for the award.

An overall winner of the Superstar Award will be announced by the Students Union later this summer.
