Sex, Gender and Nuclear Weapons Workshop – Deadline Extended to 8 December

The deadline for proposals to the upcoming Sex, Gender and Nuclear Weapons Workshop at the University of Leicester has been extended to Monday 8 December 2014.

The workshop will be held in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Leicester on Friday 16 January 2015. It seeks to bring together scholars, policy practitioners and activists from a range of different perspectives to discuss current and future prospects for research, possible common ground and new directions on gender and the nuclear enterprise. Papers are welcome on any aspect of the Gender-Nuclear nexus, but particularly those that address disarmament, anti-nuclear activism and peace movements, and the costs and consequences of a nuclear world (including the 'humanitarian initiative').

Please send an abstract of no more than 150 words by 8 December to Dr. Andrew Futter (ajf57@le.ac.uk) and Dr. Meryl Kenny (mk463@le.ac.uk).

This event is supported by funding from the College of Social Science Research Development Fund at the University of Leicester. Limited funds are available to support participant travel costs.
