Studentship in political theory
The Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Leicester invites applications for a fully-funded PhD studentship in political theory attached to its Global Ethics and Political Theory Research Cluster.
The Cluster’s members have research interests and expertise across the sub-discipline, and would welcome applications for projects in any of these areas. These include, but are not limited to, issues of citizenship and statelessness in international relations, and human rights and global ethics more broadly; methodological questions in contemporary political philosophy, especially focusing on questions of responsibility, justice and equality; animal rights and ethics, particularly related to the political representation of non-human interests; property both in the history of and contemporary political thought, and its implications for ideas about freedom, labour and belonging and their intersections with race, class and gender. Members of the Department’s other Research Clusters, in Intelligence, Security and Strategic Studies and in Parties, Participation and Public Opinion, will be available for joint supervision.
Studentship in Comparative Politics
PhD studentship in comparative politics. Ideally the candidate will have a focus on one or more of the following areas: British politics, representation, gender politics, legislatures, political parties.
