Particle and Nuclear Astrophysics Student Meeting

The Particle and Nuclear Astrophysics Student Meeting is an annual, one-day event organised by the Institute of Physics through its Astroparticle Physics group, and attended by postgraduate students working in this field.

Thursday 22nd March 2012

Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Leicester

Registration from 11.30am

This year it will be hosted by the University of Leicester.

Students are encouraged to share their work in the form of a short talk or poster, providing an excellent opportunity for them to practice presentational techniques in a less formal environment, thus preparing them for future conferences.

At this meeting participants will learn more about the ongoing areas of research within Astroparticle Physics and Nuclear Astrophysics, such as Cosmic Rays, Dark Matter, Gamma-ray, Neutrino and Gravitational Wave Astronomy and Nucleosynthesis. This then allows them to put their work into a wider astrophysical context; understand the links between theoretical and experimental endeavors, and the great potential of multi-messenger astronomy, and create contacts in the field.

Those interested in attending should complete the Registration Form. Registration for this event closes on Friday the 9th March, and abstracts should also be provided by this time.

There is no fee for this meeting and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
