Education & Outreach

I am a STEM Ambassador and speak widely in schools, for U3A and astronomical societies.

Educational Resources

We have developed educational resources specifically aimed at the National Curriculum - Classroom Space - These are now hosted at the National STEM Learning Centre. The package is indexed by Key Stage and contains lesson material based on real space data, addressing the specific curriculum requirements.

Public Lectures

I gave the November 2019 lecture to the Leicester Literary and Philosophical Society, entitled "What Space Has Done For Us", sponsored by the British Association. This will be published in the Transactions of the society.

In collaboration with artists Ione Parkin, Gillian McFarland and Alison Lochhead, I have developed a programme called "Creativity and Curiosity" to being artists and astronomers together. Active engagement through discussions and creative dialogue has inspired a growing body of artwork that is being exhibited across the UK and internationally.
