'The Replication Crisis in Psychology'

The biggest fraud in the history of psychology was recently revealed, leading to the retraction of over 50 journal articles. The Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman sees a “train wreck looming”. A picture is emerging of psychology in crisis, employing indefensible research methods, and selectively reporting unreplicable findings. Nowhere are these problems more acute than in the “behaviour priming” field, which I will illustrate with some new data. But some good can emerge from this “crisis”. I will describe a range of practices which are gaining momentum and which may allow us to place more faith in future research findings.
