August 2013 blog by Ian Forsythe

Hopefully everyone is taking some time off to unwind over the summer. The REF2014 is continuing to dominate all theme-related planning at the moment. All our outputs have been reviewed and we are currently collecting information to write the various documents that must accompany our submission: there is an Impact Statement and 4 Impact case studies and over the summer we have been drafting the Environment Statement. Lots of changes have occurred on IRIS (not least the improved format) and the flow of information is inevitably rather one way, but if you have any concerns please do email Emma or me. Over the next month or so the REF documents will be reviewed by the centre and also by the Theme Steering group. There is plenty of availability for Grant Development Meetings – so do think about where you are going next to support your research and ask Emma for a slot.
