Update from theme symposium - prizes and competition announcement

Many thanks to all that participated in the Theme Symposium ‘Development, Aging and Regeneration’ last week. It was great to see such an enthusiastic crowd and the talks and posters were interesting and informative!

At the end of the day we had three prizes: so if you missed them – here are the winners

  1. Committee Prize was awarded to Aisha Swaih as first author on the poster (No. 6) “Molecular and Cellular characterization of kynurenine 3-monoxygenase, a candidate therapeutic target in neurodegenerative disease.”
  2. Poster Prize (by popular vote) was awarded to Melissa Trotman as first author on poster (No. 14) “ Investigating the effect of NMDA receptor antagonism, using memantine hydrochloride on ischaemic cell death.
  3. Theme Prize: This year it went to three people that showed initiative and enthusiasm in Outreach and Science presentation: Joanna Shaw, Rodrigo Roberto Bammann, Jane Pennifold.

Well done to all the Prize winners!

Finally I announced a competition for an equipment grant - it is open to all – please go here if you are interested in making an application:-
