Rachael Cooksey

I am passionate about culture and heritage - particularly the social responsibility of museums and their role as agents of positive social change - Using heritage environments and their collections to support person-centred modes of care, enabling people with dementia to 'live well' through reminiscence therapy.

Increasing community engagement through collections development within the Archive and Heritage service.

My thesis investigates the differences and similarities between the museum and archive profession, and the ways in which each can increase community engagement through the development of their collections - both in terms of how and what they collect, and use of collections post acquisition.
