How are disabled people and stories of disability represented in exhibitions and displays within UK museums? Which factors shape these narratives and what implications do the narratives hold for contemporary debates surrounding disability equality?

Research Interests

I am interested in the relationship between museums and social justice and inclusion. In particular, my work is concerned with how museums have approached hidden histories, and in the evidence of disability which has been left from the past. Using a case study approach within my PhD, I am exploring the representations of disability within British museums, and considering how this interacts with current debates and discussions about disability equality.
