Research Interests

I am the curator of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, a historic house museum located in Miami, Florida. My research focus has centered on the early twentieth-century creation of the estate with an emphasis on the contemporary artists that were commissioned to create site-specific work for the house and gardens in the 1910s.

I curate the museum's Contemporary Arts Program (CAP) which continues the tradition of patronage of the arts through commissioning contemporary artists to create site-specific works for the museum. My studies aim to contextualize the place of contemporary art in historic settings within a global framework with an emphasis on the role of patronage.
