Research Interest

I am interested in the influence of the museum and the ways in which it could positively affect marginalized communities that are geographically inaccessible to the cultural programmes of the city.  In particular, my PhD research aims to develop an innovative outreach strategy in order to expand and define the role of the museums in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with an objective to establish a strong community engagement in the remote areas such as the Al Gharbia – the Western Region of UAE.

My supervisor is Dr. Viv Golding.

Professional experience

I have been working in the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority in the culture sector, as a senior content development specialist for Louvre Abu Dhabi and providing educational materials for the Saadiyat Cultural District. My core responsibility is to ensure the implementation of interpretive strategies and materials related to the developing and existing museum’s permanent collections, exhibitions, and art programmes, aligning with audience development goals and addressing the specific needs and interest of an increasingly diverse audience. In 2016 have been appointed as the curator for the fifth Sharjah Children’s Biennial where I addressed the theme “A World as Big as Your Imagination”.
