Research Interests

  • Regulation of gene expression by HDAC repressor complexes.
  • The role of HDAC complexes in the cell cycle.
  • Exploring HDAC binding partners as targets for cancer treatment.
  • Regulation of actin (de)polymerisation by post-translationally modified cortactin and its role in cancer cell division and migration.

Experimental methods

  • Cell Biology: Fluorescent Confocal Microscopy, Bright Field Microscopy, Proximity Ligation Assay, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Cell Culture, Transient Transfection, Aggregometry, EMARS.
  • Molecular Biology: Mutagenesis, PCR, RT-PCR, SDS-PAGE and Western Blotting, Protein Expression and Purification, Immunoprecipitation.
  • Structural Biology: X-ray Crystallography.
