Undergraduate
Undergraduate Courses – Why Study Modern Languages?
Welcome to an exciting opportunity to discover the world of modern languages. At the University of Leicester we offer a rich and diverse learning experience, with great facilities, staff who are acknowledged experts in their field, and a chance to study abroad and build your knowledge. Plus, at the end of the first year, students taking French, Italian or Spanish will attend a three week Summer School course in an exciting European location, which will increase their confidence and boost their language ability.
Developing your foreign language skills gives you a powerful advantage in business and opens up a wide range of careers. You will be able to immerse yourself in a rich culture of learning-led experience in a supportive and tailored learning environment, and you will be supported by our team of personal tutors to help you make the best of your time here. We use a range of audio and visual media, language laboratories, interpreting booths and open access space in which to study.
As part of our undergraduate courses, you will also be able to study abroad for a year, where you can live as a student or work as a teaching assistant, with tutors on hand to help throughout the year. We have links with many universities in Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Quebec and South America.
