Originally from China, I came to the UK to pursue my PhD studies in American Studies. I made a successful transition to Translation Studies after a three-year maternity break, thanks to a passion for the field and years of translation practice. Before joining the University of Leicester in 2015, I was Lecturer in Translation Studies at Bangor University.

My research interests include Chinese literature in English translation, migrant and minority literature, focusing on issues of cultural translation, power, hegemony and globalisation. Well published in literary translation, I also examine issues in literary translation from a practitioner’s perspective. I also start to develop a research interest in memory studies and translation.
