Language volunteers

If you are a native speaker in any of the languages we teach (see list below) and you would like to support others learning languages, you can become a 'Language Volunteer'.

Languages: Arabic, British Sign Language, Mandarin Chinese, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek (Ancient or Modern), Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.



Language tutors required


We are looking for enthusiastic, engaging and experienced language tutors to join in our team.

At the moment all teaching posts at languages at Leicester are covered. However, if you wish to teach with us in the future, please send us your CV and Cover Letter to lalenquiries@le.ac.uk, including the following subject: Teaching at LaL (adding your language/s).

Language degrees

Modern Languages at Leicester, part of the School of Arts, offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees combining French, Spanish and Italian with each other and with other academic subjects. We also offer degrees in translation and interpreting.

Classes run during the University terms and take place during evenings, afternoons and Saturdays:
