The Department of Medical & Social Care Education has been running placements for students (via our Student Selected Component) that allows students to work in an interprofessional manner to the benefit of the local community. Multiple agencies are involved together with a range of health professionals.

Intercalated BSc Success

The Medical School is delighted that fourth year medical student, Muntadhir Mehdi Al-Uzri presented work undertaken for an intercalated BSc as a poster at the ISTS 2014 (International Scientific Tendinopathy Symposium) held at Oxford University in September 2014. The abstract was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Hina Azeem studied a module in 'Arts in Medicine' during her time at Leicester Medical School and wrote a dissertation on Edvard Munch and the effect his psychological state had upon his artwork. Having modified the piece of writing and sought permission from the Munch Estate in Oslo, Norway, the article was subsequently published in 'Advances in Psychiatric Treatment' Journal, under the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
