Best Practice in Teaching Event, 24th May 2018

Best Practice 2018On 24th May 2018, the Medical School held its second Best Practice in Teaching Meeting. The event attracted 100 LMS educators and administrators, and provided an informative educational forum for the provision of key School updates and the sharing of best practice.

The morning session included an overview of the new Phase 2 MBChB curriculum and a summation of assessment changes. The afternoon session consisted of interesting and instructive talks from Medical School staff and Local Education Provider clinical teachers. This comprised clinical teaching fellow presentations, curriculum delivery success stories and developments in digital teaching platforms. Delegates also had the opportunity to take part in interactive discussion forums in the areas of creating a teaching session using a digital platform, novel safeguarding teaching for undergraduates and improving the student experience through bedside teaching. Feedback on the event was overwhelmingly positive and suggestions for improving future events were noted.
