James's Student Profile

Student Profile James Pic

I chose to study at the University of Leicester as I loved the look of the course. The modules looked really interesting, far better than competitors and the staff were all really nice. At the Open Day I found everyone really warm, they just felt like a big family, the students clearly loved being here and it had the perfect atmosphere.

I have found my department excellent - it's quite small, which means you can get to really know everybody and they always have the time and make an effort with you.

I have found Leicester a really nice city to live in, it is great for shopping and the nightlife is great. There are loads of clubs and bars in town with a lot of student deals on. On top of all that there is the Phoenix arts centre and Curve theatre in the cultural quarter of the city. The thing that has surprised me most about Leicester is the amount of independent shops and how green parts of the city are.

I would describe my time at Leicester as life-changing, I have learnt so much more than I expected. I would recommend Leicester to any potential students and would tell a new student to make the most of every opportunity, get involved.
