Olga Linne

Olga Linne was Senior Lecturer from 1984 at the Centre for Mass Communication Research at the University of Leicester. She was the Acting Director of the Centre during 1991-1992 and the Director of the Centre 1999 to 2000. She was also the Postgraduate Research Director from 1988. Olga was previously the Director of Media and Communication in Danish Broadcasting Corporation. She holds a PhD from the University of Stockholm, Sweden. Olga has published widely in the UK and abroad.

Olga's research interests have dealt with different traditions and changing paradigms in the research about children, young people and the media. She has also been interested in journalistic practices and environmental issues. Olga is co-editor of the course reader ‘Approaches to Audiences’. She was formerly Vice President of the International Association for Media and Communication. She has successfully supervised twenty PhD students from all over the world.
