During his time at Cardiff he has taught on a range of modules on both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The modules he has taught on include: MA Political Communication; BA History of Mass Communications; BA Media and the Public Sphere; BA Understanding Journalism; BA Advertising and Consumer Culture, BA Media and Democracy and BA ‘Spin Unspun: Public Relations and the News Media’.

His PhD thesis entitled ‘Protest in Action: An examination of the production, media representation, and reflexivity of protest group communications strategies and protest tactics’ used content analysis, framing, interviews and ethnography to analyse the impact of the media and protest tactics of three different protest groups, and the affect these tactics had on their ability to publicise their key messages. It used the concept of political opportunity structures to explore the external influences on protest groups which guide the relative success and failure of these protest groups to reach their aims and goals.
