Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Lyon, France

 4th – 8th January 2016.

With this conference we hope to bring together experts in different fields who have some connection with aperiodic order.

These include:

  • Semigroup theory, in particular the Ellis semigroup, and the application of this theory to the study of tilings
  • Number theory, diophantine approximation and its role in understanding  aperiodic order
  • Dynamical systems, in particular almost automorphic dynamical systems (just beyond equicontinuity)
  • Geometry and topology and how they may be used to describe aperiodic order
