Title: Associativity out of Morse theory.

Abstract: I will show that a natural stack of broken lines constructed from Morse theory seems to serve an important purpose: Its category of factorizable sheaves is equivalent to the category of (possibly non-unital) associative algebras. If time allows, I may also touch on a generalization whose factorizable sheaves encode planar operads. This is joint work with Jacob Lurie.
