Jean Monnet funding grant awarded to the Law School

Professor Katja Ziegler (University of Leicester), together with Dr Violeta Moreno-Lax (QMUL) and Dr Päivi Johanna Neuvonen (University of Helsinki) have been awarded a total of € 59,782.5 for their project "Constructing Legal Orders in Europe: The General Principles of EU Law".

This project will bring together in a workshop and collaborative publication project (Research Handbook on General Principles of EU Law) scholars from a wide range of expertise in EU law, international law, legal theory and experts of different substantive fields of law, to discuss the future and transformative potential of general principles in shaping the relationship between the EU legal system and other legal orders.

The Jean Monnet grants are internationally respected as a brand of excellence in EU studies, which bring together a network of more than 1,700 academics reaching 265,000 students every year.
