CharterClick! Student Testing Workshop held at CELI, 25 November 2016

The Leicester unit of the CharterClick! consortium conducted a workshop for students on Friday, 25 November 2016

The CharterClick! workshop was run by Leicester academics Ewa Zelazna, Lisa Rodgers, Aristi Volou and Katja Ziegler. It introduced participants to the EU Charter on Fundamental Rights, in particular, to determining its scope of application. It also provided insights about how the Charter has been applied in UK courts till date. Students were then introduced to the toolkit of CharterClick! In particular, the workshop comprised:

  1. A tutorial introducing users to the Charter;
  2. A checklist to establish whether a case would fall into the scope of the Charter; and
  3. A database comprising leading judgments from national courts in a number of EU countries in relation to the Charter.
  4. The participants of the workshop had an opportunity to work with the toolkit on a draft website and to test its functionality, providing valuable feedback.

The workshop concluded the testing phase of the project. The website will now be revised in the light of the feedback. It will be launched in 2017.
