Naomi joined Leicester Law School in July 2019 to work on a 2 million euro European Research Council funded project, FORTITUDE; a 5 year research project aiming to improve the legal capability of children and young people.

Naomi is also completing her PhD at the University of Nottingham, for which she was awarded a scholarship from the Economic and Social Research Council. Her PhD research focuses on the child’s right to play, providing conceptual clarity to the right and examining how best it can be implemented.From 2017-2019 Naomi was employed as Research Associate with the Rights and Justice Research Priority Area, Rights Lab, to assist in data gathering for the next Global Slavery Index. This project was in partnership with the Walk Free Foundation. Since March 2018 Naomi has worked with the Human Rights Law Centre as Module Convenor for the Women's Rights module on the International Human Rights Law Distance Learning Course. Naomi is also an Editorial Assistant for the Human Rights Law Review. Naomi has presented her research at a number of national and international conferences and is an active member of academic networks such as ESRAN.
