Law School lecturer presents at UN Committee

Lecturer in Law, Katherine Wade presented her research to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child on 5 February 2019

Dr Katherine Wade presented before the Committee on the Rights of the Child at a Committee briefing on the topic of surrogacy at the headquarters of the Office for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva. Katherine was part of an interdisciplinary panel and presented on the child’s right to know their origins under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and how these rights could be affected in the context of surrogacy arrangements.

The presentation was based on her article “The Regulation of Surrogacy: A Children’s Rights Perspective”, which she published in the Child and Family Law Quarterly in 2017.
