Personal details

Catarina Sjölin joined Leicester Law School in 2017 after 15 years in practice at the criminal Bar and 4 years lecturing at Nottingham Law School.

Although currently non-practising, I returned to practice briefly as one of the junior counsel in the Supreme Court appeal of Jogee [2016] UKSC 8 (on complicity). I sit as a Recorder in the Crown Court on the Midland Circuit and retain a door tenancy at my old chambers, 36 Bedford Row.

My research interests are in criminal law (particularly consent, culpability and complicity), evidence and sentencing.
