University of Leicester Medical Law Mooting Competition winners 2014

The third annual University of Leicester Medical Law Mooting Competition, sponsored by the ICLR and 1 Crown Office Row Chambers, and supported by the OUP, took place in the School of Law at Leicester University on Saturday 29 November 2014.

Twenty teams participated in the event, which involved a clinical negligence moot problem. The competition took place over five rounds, with the final being judged by Simeon Maskrey QC, of 7 Bedford Row Chambers; Henry Witcomb, of 1 Crown Office Row Chambers, and Dr. Tracey Elliott from the University of Leicester. The winners of the competition were the team from Cambridge University, consisting of Emmeline Plews and Richard O’Keeffe. The runners-up were the team from Leicester University, consisting of Rob Quartly and Rachel Burton.
