Steve Evans finalist in National Law Lecturer of the Year Award 2016

Steve Evans

Steve was nominated by students in his final-year Equity and Trusts module. They found his teaching methods “incredibly effective” and appreciated especially his “ability to relate theory to legal practice” and use of humour in the classroom. Students describe him as approachable and kind, and have high regard for the extensive support he provides to their Pro Bono extra-curricular activities.  Steve also created a mentoring scheme which matches second year and final year students with a mentor from legal practice.

Steve will now move on to the second stage of the judging process, which involves a campus visit from members of the judging panel. The winner will be announced at a one-day conference dedicated to excellence in law teaching, planned to be held in Oxford in the summer.  The progress of the competition can be followed at www.oxfordtextbooks.co.uk/lawteacher.
