Leicester Law students on the BBC!

Leaders of Leicester Law School’s Pro Bono Society were interviewed by BBC Radio Leicester on 7 December 2016 about the value of their work to the local community as well as to students’ personal development.

Those interviewed included Anna McCormack (Chief Officer), Kimberley Clifton (Director of the Street Law Project) and Zoe Morris (Director of Crime Club). A wide range of Pro Bono activities were highlighted in the interview: from the various ways in which legal assistance is provided to the public via the Legal Advice Clinic, Project LIGHT, the Immigration and Asylum Project and the ‘Litigants in Person Project’, through initiatives such as Street Law and Crime Club which develop the legal knowledge of younger people and encourage them to take an interest in studying law, to projects with a national and international impact such as the Miscarriages of Justice Project and Lawyers Without Borders.
