Leicester graduates Margaret Purdasy and Adrian Roberts will talk about legal careers in the UK Government.
  • Recruitment: how to get a job as a government lawyer – training contracts and post-qualification jobs.
  • What Government lawyers do – from litigation and legislation to commercial deals, EU and public international law.
  • What it’s like – from experience working in a range of departments including the Treasury Solicitor, Home Office, Department of Energy & Climate Change and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.  Including the facts about pay, diversity, barristers/solicitors/advocates, qualifications, working conditions etc.
  • Differences (and similarities) with private practice.
