Law professor invited to give evidence to Scottish Parliament

Professor Vanessa Munro

Vanessa Munro was invited as one of 4 UK academics to provide expertise in relation to the Bill. In particular, her views were sought on the proposed introduction of extended judicial directions to jurors in rape cases. Based on the findings of her ESRC study, conducted jointly with Louise Ellison (University of Leeds), Vanessa argued that such directions - if appropriately crafted - had the potential to improve prospects for justice for rape complainers.
