‘Legal Formalism and Civil Justice in the Digital Age’ in Israel

Masood Ahmed presented a paper on ‘Legal Formalism and Civil Justice in the Digital Age’ at the Legal Formalism Conference at Bar Ilan University (Israel).

He was invited to the Law Society (Chancery Lane) to take part in round table discussions on litigation funding with leading practitioners and market experts. Masood provided expert opinions on the state of funding and costs and the impact of government policy on civil justice. He presented views on the various civil justice reforms, especially the Jackson Reforms on civil litigation costs, and called for the need for the litigation funding market to formulate appropriate funding models for individuals in order to achieve greater access to justice.

Masood has been invited to join a panel of leading academics at the Judicial Conflict Resolution Conference to be held at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies. Masood will be presenting views on English judicial approaches to conflict resolution and alternative dispute resolution.
