What to do in situations of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes?

Dr Eki Omorogbe

In July 2014, Dr Eki Omorogbe participated in the “Transatlantic Dialogue on the Responsibility to Protect (R2P)” in The Hague, Netherlands, co-hosted by the Hague Institute for Global Justice and the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights (MIGS). The two institutes brought together more than twenty experts from law, academia, government, and civil society with the aim of improving transatlantic consensus on the operationalization of the R2P norm and its invocation in situations where civilians are at risk of mass atrocities.

The second part of the Transatlantic Dialogue will take place later this year in Canada. Results of the dialogues will inform a policy report aimed at influencing key stakeholders in Europe and North America.

Dr Omorogbe also took part in an interview session on key issues concerning R2P that is publicly available on The Hague Institute's website.
