New EPSRC Grant on Algorithms for Computing with Uncertainty

Thomas Erlebach and Michael Hoffmann have just been awarded an EPSRC grant ACUTE (Algorithms for Computing with Uncertainty - Theory and Experiments) to investigate algorithms for computing with uncertainty. The project is concerned with foundational, theoretical research that aims to find new algorithmic solutions to the problem of deciding for which parts of an uncertain input additional information should be requested (via queries) before a solution can be computed. Several distinguished researchers from abroad will contribute to the project as visiting researchers.
