Software Engineering for Sustainability

Dr. Ruzanna Chitchyan

Sustainability (i.e., environmental-friendliness, economic fairness and social well being) has become a central topic in everyday life. This talk will look at software engineering process and discuss (using a case study) how software can be built in such a way as to help the society be more sustainable. In discussing this topic, the talk will walk through all stages of software engineering – from requirements to implementation.

  • Approximate length: 50 minutes
  • Equipment required: overhead projector
  • Target audience:  for students at Years 8, 10 or 12 (technical depth of the content will be adapted)
